1st DAY: Transfer from the airport to “Le Campanelle”
Transfer from the airport of Palermo to the first accommodation. It will take about one hour. Guests will find Mirko and his family waiting for them in the wonderful Agriturismo “Le Campanelle”, which has an amazing view of green hills and the Mediterranean sea. Once there, according to times, availability and weather conditions, guests will have the chance to drink something by the pool and take a bath. Then dinner will be served: it will be the best welcome to Sicily and a good way to wish a wonderful week to our guests, who will have the chance to enjoy the local cuisine and taste km0 products. Please notice that our trips in Madonie are very flexible and there could be the chance to adapt the program to guests’ needs, with a previous talk to the guides.
2nd DAY: “Le Campanelle”
On the first morning, after breakfast, we will give our guests some info about our horses and the training method we use with them. It’s based on natural horsemanship and there are a couple of suggestions that we can give to the riders to help them in building a good relationship with their horses. This day will be easy and not too long, so riders won’t be too tired at the end of the ride. We’ll ride up and down the hills around Lascari, we’ll have a light lunch in the countryside, and will ride back to the Agriturismo. Dinner and overnight.
3rd DAY: “Le Campanelle”
Today guests could decide to spend some time with the horses to improve their relationship with them. Then the ride will start! We will go up to Gratteri, a tiny village on the mountain that dominates the valley of Lascari. On the way we will stop for a light picnic in the cork forest that characterizes the surrounding of Gratteri. After the lunch break we will ride up to the village, cross part of it, to reach the big field where we’ll leave the horses for the night. A short drive will bring us back to “Le Campanelle”. Dinner and overnight.
4th DAY: “Casale Drinzi”
A rich breakfast will give the riders the energy to start the day in the best way. The root we will take will bring us higher today. We’ll reach Piano Zucchi at lunch time, a wonderful plane higher on the mountain. Riding up we’ll cross old woods where we could have the possibility to meet wild animals, as deers and wild boars. After lunch our path will bring us down again towards Collesano, a small mountain village overlooking the sea. Here we’ll reach a nice and old accommodation called “Casale Drinzi, which takes the name from the area where is built. The cuisine is a little bit different here: the hosts will feel like having dinner in a Sicilian house, with a Sicilian family. They’ll also have the chance to taste the wonderful pizza prepared with wood oven.
5th DAY: “Le Campanelle”
This will be an easy day, a day of relaxing! Depending on the season and customers’ wishes, we can plan some different activities for the morning (cooking class, watch cheese production..), and ride before or right after lunch. We will ride down to the pasture where our horses will be freed together with the herd. A short drive then, will bring us to “Le Campanelle” for our last dinner together.
6thDAY: Airport
After breakfast, and depending on flight schedules, we’ll drive our guests back to the airport.
